I’m Brian Greenberg — CIO at RHR International, adjunct professor at DePaul University, Forbes Technology Council member, and a firm believer that good technology strategy starts with understanding people and systems, not just tools.
I’ve spent 30+ years in the thick of it — from company boardrooms to scrappy startups, from server rooms in Chicago to expat assignments in Japan and Belgium, and graduate studies abroad in Egypt and Indonesia. I’ve led digital transformations, built security programs from scratch, and served as an interim CIO/CTO for organizations that needed steady hands in turbulent moments.
My academic background in Whole Systems Design and System Dynamics (M.A., Antioch University Seattle) isn’t just a credential — it’s how I think. I apply systems theory to cybersecurity strategy, organizational change, and technology decision-making in ways that most IT leaders don’t.
Outside of work, you’ll find me in an indie coffee house with a book, hiking the river trails, tending to my houseplant collection, or doing improv on a stage somewhere in Chicago. I’m also a storyteller and an occasional philosopher.
I’m always glad to connect — especially around board positions, speaking engagements, and advisory roles at the intersection of technology, security, and systems thinking. Say hello.
